My approach to therapy
Therapy offers a caring and compassionate space in which you can undertake some of
life’s hardest tasks: facing old fears, coming to terms with uncomfortable realities, and
processing difficult life experiences. However, the kindness, understanding, and patience
of a knowledgeable therapist makes these tasks a little easier to bear. In this way, as your
therapist, I welcome the opportunity to support you on your journey to healing and wisdom.
I believe that caring and compassion go hand-in-hand with a realistic, no-nonsense
approach to treatment that respects and includes your unique life experiences, and
encourages you to reach your highest potential.
My practice emphasizes evidence-based cognitive and behavioral approaches to
treatment. Among these, I believe that acceptance- and mindfulness-based techniques are
among the most valuable, and provide everyone the ability to disengage with lifelong
struggles by creating new ways of relating to themselves and those who are most
important in their lives.
Therapy with me is:
Client-centered and client-driven
Warm, welcoming, and inclusive
Real, genuine, and down to Earth
Positive and strengths-based
Grounded in evidence-based practices
Therapeutic modalities I use include:
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Exposure Therapy
12-Step Facilitation
