Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at stoye@insightfulcare.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes, we do! We work with Headway, a third-party platform that helps us manage insurance billing. Through Headway, we’re able to accept many major insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and United. They handle all of the administrative aspects—verifying your benefits, processing claims, and making the experience smoother for both you and us.

We’ve partnered with Headway because we believe that accessible care shouldn’t come with extra hurdles, and working with them allows us to focus more on your care while they handle the logistics of insurance.

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who focus on diagnosis and medication and can provide goal-directed therapy as well. If you need or are considering medication for your mental health, a psychiatrist is the one to see.

Our psychiatrists are also board certified in Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine which allows them to bring specialized expertise to your treatment.

Psychologists and licensed mental health professionals focus on talk therapy—helping you explore your thoughts, emotions, and behavior in order to make meaningful change. We don’t prescribe medication, but we often work closely with psychiatrists if that becomes part of your care.

It depends on your goals, the challenges you're facing, and the kind of therapy we’re doing.

Some people come for 10-12 sessions to work through a specific issue, while others find that their complex history of trauma requires deeper, long-term work. In our first sessions, we’ll talk about what you’re hoping to get out of therapy and decide together what kind of timeline makes sense for you.

You’re not locked into anything—therapy is a collaborative process, and you’re in the driver’s seat.

The first session is about getting to know each other. We’ll ask questions to understand your current concerns, your background, and what brings you in now. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for how we work.

There’s no pressure to share everything all at once—we’ll go at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you.

By the end of the session, we’ll talk about next steps and whether it feels like a good fit to continue working together.

To get started, you can contact us by phone or through the contact form below—whichever feels most comfortable for you.

Once we hear from you, our office administrator will be in touch to complete a brief phone screening. During this call, we’ll get a better understanding of your needs, help determine the best provider fit, and verify your insurance coverage.

If everything aligns, we’ll send you our intake forms and schedule your first appointment. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

For those seeking it, we are pleased to offer faith-based counseling rooted in Christian principles, providing Biblically sound support that aligns with ethical, evidence-based practice. We’re committed to meeting each client where they are — whether or not faith is part of their journey.
